The Olney Town Center Advisory Committee Seeks Community Input

Late in 2007 the Olney Town Center Advisory Committee (OTCAC) began soliciting input on a Draft Illustrative Concept Plan and Development Guidelines of the Olney Master Plan. The Illustrative Concept is an extension and refinement of the guidance found in the Olney Master Plan approved in 2005. The Illustrative Concept has now been revised in response to the many comments received from individuals and organizations in the greater Olney community. It is the hope of the OTCAC that this document captures the vision the community has for our town center and will serve as a guide to future developers and designers interested in developing properties in the town center.

It is expected that the revised Illustrative Concept, now entitled the Olney Town Center Conceptual Illustration, will be presented to the Montgomery County Planning Board during the fall or early winter of 2008. In the meantime, the Advisory Committee has begun to actively work on a concept plan for a civic center and town commons in the town center and is continuing to refine the development guidelines associated with the Conceptual Illustration. Public input continues to be encouraged throughout the development of these documents and in connection with any of the work being done by the Advisory Committee. The Committee is putting together a plan for their upcoming outreach efforts.
