There are several land use zones that relate to the development of the town center area. The current applicable zone is the Mixed Use Town Center Zone (MXTC). The MXTC zone incorporates the commercial uses permitted in the C-1 and C-2 zones, the zones that were predominate in the town center area at the time. C-1 and C-2 are defined in Division 59-C-4 (Commercial Zones); and the Olney town center zone is defined in Division 59-C-11 Mixed Use Town Center Zone (MXTC) of the Montgomery County Zoning Ordinance

Members of the OTCAC completed a questionnaire prepared by Park and Planning staff to help them focus on those things in the town center that they liked and disliked, problem intersections, buildings or areas that should be preserved, areas that need to be improved, etc. The responses to the questionnaire were summarized to identify patterns that might be useful as the Committee proceeds with its work of creating an illustrative concept for the future development of the town center area.Olney Master Plan
